This weekend I attended my first improv show at the Campbell Theater and it was awesome! I recognized some of the actor’s faces from our community, and that made the night even more special. Afterward, I joined some friends at a couple of the local watering holes. It was such a lovely night that we decided to take a walk down Main Street. I was so caught up in the moment that I forgot to take a photo of it, but it was like a scene out of a movie. The market lights lit the street, folks were out walking at a leisurely pace and air was so fresh. The whole evening I kept thinking to myself how lucky my husband and I are to have found a home in the downtown neighborhood of Martinez.
It wasn’t lost on me that being able to freely walk home after an evening like this is such a blessing. I still pinch myself when I think of how lucky we are. On one of our strolls, we discovered a new hike too! Being able to pick up a hiking trail in the middle of a downtown neighborhood seems strange, but I think it’s what makes Martinez so unique.
