This past weekend I celebrated my birthday and decided to treat myself to a lovely staycation. What exactly is a staycation? To me, a staycation is where I intentionally relax in the comfort of my home, enjoy some of the local sites and take in the beauty that is my hometown. My husband, Mark, and I did a few of these things and my favorite thing we did was stage our Air BnB with some local art, materials, and food. Stage food? Oh yes, we staged the food! We ordered a large assortment of bites from one of our Martinez favorites, Troy Greek Restaurant, and made the spread look amazing. I’ll be sure to share those images and our Air BnB information in the weeks to come.

Though we completed many projects, that we needed to handle for our little casita, we did have some downtime where we got to just enjoy our new home. In our downtime, we pretended to be guests in our humble abode. We learned a lot about how to make our guests stay more enjoyable and picked up a few critical pieces to make the place more plush and comfortable.

With so many events happening in Martinez, I’m thrilled to have a place to tell our guests to go to and hope that you enjoy the event updates too!

This year’s Martinez Vintage Market will be held on Saturday, August 17th from 9am to 5pm. It will feature antiques, collectibles, crafts and much more; best of all, admission is free! Check out the Martinez Chamber of Commerce website for further details.
