This month is National Hunger Action Month. Our family will be hosting our second annual Neighborhood Food Drive + Drive-Up Donut Day… But more to follow on that in the coming week!

This month, there is a lot of good that can be done. You can volunteer at your local food bank to help them sort items. The Meals on Wheels crew always needs more helpers. Several Mutual Aid stations have been set up in our communities. And, it always helps to inform ourselves – Here is a great website where you can find out more regarding food insecurity.

Volunteering with Meals on Wheels is one of the highlights of my weeks. I have the opportunity to connect with community member to find out how they’re doing and if they need any other kind of assistance. It only take 1-2 hours a week, and it’s incredibly fulfilling. Local downtown business owners started a mutual aid station where the community has stocked food, hand sanitizer (provided by Mighty Market) and personal hygiene products. When this community sees a need, it fills it and it does so quickly. It’s a large part of I love living here. People help each other out, lift each other up and are always looking to lend a helping hand.

Would you like to find out more about how you can make an impact? Let’s connect!
