If you’ve been wondering how you can support your favorite, local restaurant, without spending a dime or leaving your couch, I’ve got a tip for you!
Leaving a kind review on websites like Yelp, Google, Facebook and other places makes the world of difference. In an article, by Inc., they stated that 84% of people trust online reviews as much as friends. That is an astonishing number to me!
Think of a time when you needed to find a restaurant (or salon, dry cleaner, cobbler) in an unfamiliar area… How did you find the business you were looking for? Likely, it was online. These small businesses rely on their community to lift them up in the search ratings.
So, what can you do to help? The easiest thing would be to Google search your favorite restaurants, and check to see if they have a review page on their website. If they do not, check out common review sites, to see if they’re business is located there. Once you find the business, mention why you love it. Is it the food, customer service, atmosphere? Try to have your review include specifics too. For instance, if you know the lunch specials are great, and you also love their weekend brunches, mention why you love each of those.
Not only will the business owners appreciate the reviews, so will the folks looking for that perfect taco!
