As you’ve already learned, I held two terms with AmeriCorps. Within those terms, there were weeks where I was empty in my stomach but my heart was full. This is the point in my life when I learned about food insecurity. To combat this I would volunteer extra hours at Project MANA in order to be able to receive food from their food pantry. This can be said about many, many places in America; including our town of Martinez.

NOT SO FUN FACT: One in thirty American children will face homelessness sometime this year. These kids miss an average of 88 school days per year.

Quickly, I wanted to give you an update on the King of the County BBQ Challenge & Music Festival – It was an amazing time! We saw some many of our wonderful neighbors and had a lot of our family over after the event. We are still so, so in love with our home and have started in on a couple of our big projects. The photo displayed here is of Mark and I, we had waaay too much fun while there!
